In an exceptional alliance between an NGO and the private sector, ECPAT joined forces with The Body Shop to create the first global campaign ever launched to stop the trafficking of children and youth for sexual purposes.

The Stop Sex Trafficking of Children and Young People campaign seeks to inspire ground breaking change and mobilise global action to protect children and young people's right to freedom from sex trafficking and all forms of exploitation.

At the launch of its second year, the campaign has already had far-reaching effects, surpassing most of its initial goals. These include raising awareness, spurring long-term action and raising funds for preventive action and direct support for child survivors of sex trafficking.

In 2009 The Body Shop launched its Soft Hands Kind Heart hand cream with all proceeds going to the ECPAT Network and selected partner organizations around the world. Click here for description of projects that are supported with the funding of The Body Shop collected in 2009-2010.

ECPAT and The Body Shop have also organized activities worldwide to support the cause through rallies, media events, film screenings, activities featuring local celebrities, decorating city metro buses with the campaign logo and colours and distributing important information about child sex trafficking.
